Legal teams · One LegisComply use case

Add a contract.
We’ll prepare the protected copy.

LegisComply finds and replaces party names, deal values, contacts, and confidential terms—locally in your browser. You approve the changes, then use the protected copy with your firm’s approved AI.

A practical control

Not another AI platform. A safer handoff to the tools your team already uses.

This page covers the standalone browser workflow for legal teams. LegisComply also supports everyday client emails, meeting notes, and proposals. It sits before ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Copilot, or another assistant. It does not grant an AI access to your document store and does not decide whether a provider is approved by your firm.

Where it helps

One completed job, with four common outcomes.

01

Clause review

Preserve clause text and defined-party relationships while replacing the real party names, contacts, and commercial identifiers.

02

Issue spotting

Create a protected working copy before asking an approved AI to flag ambiguous language, unusual terms, or questions for counsel.

03

Obligation extraction

Keep roles and deadlines understandable while reviewing whether exact names, dates, and values need to leave the firm.

04

Contract summaries

Retain the agreement’s structure and substance while minimizing the identifying details included in the AI conversation.

The workflow

Control stays with the person handling the matter.

  1. Open a working copy

Paste text or select a text-based PDF, DOCX, or TXT file. Extraction happens on the device.

  2. Review the findings

Confirm, ignore, or recategorize each match. Add client names, matter names, or confidential phrases the detector cannot infer.

  3. Copy protected text

Real values become readable tokens such as [[CLIENT_1]] and [[AMOUNT_1]], preserving the document’s logic.

  4. Restore the response locally

Paste the AI response back into the same tab to replace recognized tokens with their original values.

Use it responsibly

A privacy layer is one control—not the whole policy.

Confirm the AI provider and account are approved by your firm.

Check client instructions, engagement terms, and applicable professional duties.

Review for contextual clues that could still identify a client or matter.

Treat AI output as a draft and verify it independently.

Ready when you are

Prepare a non-critical contract for AI review.

Start with the free individual workflow. Consider a team pilot only after someone returns with another contract.
